A Lune Valley Summer Sunday

My last show with just one dog to run, at least for a while!

We only had one clear round, in the second G6-7 Jumping. No idea what our time was or if we got placed, it was still running when we left. I highly doubt we’d have been placed, it was a pretty fast and easy kind of course.

G5-6 Agility was actually quite a tough course, and very demanding on contact independence. Dyl got suckered into a tunnel under the dogwalk, but his contacts were nice and independent? He was running smooth and his jumping was fluent, great weaves

G6-7 Jumping was a nice course, lots of outs but everything was very spaced out. Bit too spaced out for us, Dylan added in a few extra jumps, oops. He was jumping super though, didn’t even stutter into the angled spread finish, just clean and smooth. Unfortunately he wasn’t very fast either!

G6-7 Agility was a really great course, my cup of tea! I made some stupid handling errors at the start and then for some reason Dyl missed a jump later on, so we got 5R. He had nice contacts and again, his jumping was smooth and clean. Just not fast.

In terms of technical ability, we have absolutely no problems with the courses. Obstacle performance was good on everything! Just not sure how to increase his speed, he’s relaxed and happy and enthusiastic, just not running flat out! I could probably help by getting a bit fitter – or a lot fitter, actually! – but I’m not sure how much that really affects Dylan’s pace anyway.

Contacts this weekend were from Jaycee, wood & rubber. Dylan absolutely confident, no problems.
