I should have known that trying to lay any kind of plans for the next 6 months would end in disaster! It appears that Dylan has come down with Kennel Cough** which means we won’t be competing again until after Christmas. The girls are both currently fine — in fact, Mollie is high as a kite and completely bonkers at the moment, and Kim isn’t too far behind — but I am slightly concerned about them getting it at their age, and with Kim already being on daytime walks due to her being stressed during the evening thanks to the fireworks.<\/p>\n
I can only assume Dylan caught this at Hare’n’Hounds, as the incubation period is usually 3-5 days and he started coughing yesterday (Tuesday) morning. Jet, thankfully, appears to be completely fine and can continue competing at flyball at least.<\/p>\n
I’m disappointed that I’m going to miss the Christmas Hare’n’Hounds, which would have been Kim’s first Grade 6 show, and mostly Wyre, where I never win anything but I haven’t missed it in 5 years, because it’s such a great end to the season. Having said that, I mostly just hope all the dogs have minor symptoms and stay happy throughout what will hopefully be a minor case.<\/p>\n
