{"id":2881,"date":"2013-03-05T18:07:37","date_gmt":"2013-03-05T18:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.undermybed.co.uk\/?p=2881"},"modified":"2013-03-05T18:07:37","modified_gmt":"2013-03-05T18:07:37","slug":"product-review-canagan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thosenoisydogs.co.uk\/?p=2881","title":{"rendered":"Product Review: Canagan Follow Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.undermybed.co.uk\/2013\/02\/product-review-canagan-grain-free-dog-food\/\" title=\"Product Review: Canagan Grain Free Dog Food\">Rio and Dylan have been eating <strong>Canagan<\/strong> for the month as part of a product review I agreed to do.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 12kg bag lasted for <em>nearly<\/em> 4 weeks feeding two 20kg active dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Both dogs <em>loved<\/em> the food, it definitely passed the palatability test. They were fed it twice a day at mealtimes, and I also use kibble rewards when training as well.<\/p>\n<p>There was no change to Rio or Dylan&#8217;s coat quality or general health (either positive or negative). I can&#8217;t say I noticed any change to their activity levels either, although they have been back on their original food for 3 days now and do seem much more active on walks than they have been recently. I also struggled to keep Rio&#8217;s weight down on this food. She isn&#8217;t overweight but I could stand to see her lose a kg or so, and even with reduced potions she hasn&#8217;t dropped the weight. However, I can&#8217;t necessarily say this is due to Canagan, because Rio does love her food!<\/p>\n<p>Overall, I do think this is a better option than most commerically available kibbles. The composition of ingredients is better than most and it does have a relatively high meat content. The ingredients are sourced more ethically and there are some good supplements included. However, I sort of expected a more positive impact from such an expensive product, especially after I&#8217;d heard so much about the importance of grain-free kibble. I&#8217;d have to conclude that there are equally good options on the market if you do your research, and most of them are probably cheaper than Canagan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rio and Dylan have been eating Canagan for the month as part of a product review I agreed to do.
