New-old camera, Dylan training

My camera has been replaced with a shiny new one! After a long argument involving various managers they finally admitted they were wrong. I should get it this evening so I’ll try to get some videos from flyball training tomorrow.

Dylan’s weave entry issues seem to be getting resolved, he missed twice at training but he wasn’t actually supposed to be weaving as I already knew a right angle entry was too difficult for him! On both occasions took him back for another attempt at an easier angle and he was fine. He’s also looking a lot more confident with his seesaw, no refusals, no freaking out and no hesitations. He isn’t running quite to the end which is ideally what I wanted, but considering his earlier fears I’m pretty pleased and I don’t think he’s losing too much speed. The current method is to run until his front paws at touching the contact and then move into his 2o2o as the seesaw is 6″ from the ground, so his front paws and the seesaw tend to hit the floor at the same time. (I think this is similar to how Dylan’s sister Kai has been reacting and adapting to the seesaw, which is interesting).

I’m still not going to enter Dylan in many of the winter shows though. He’s doing the EMDAC’s which will be a big confidence booster for both of us, but I’m definitely not entering him at Wyre. The classes are all 3-5 Combined/Graded which I think could potentially have sequences and weave entries/exits that are going to be too challenging for him. I’ll see what classes are offered at Ribble but I’m not expecting him to go to that either, the January Ribble is usually aimed at higher grade dogs so I guess they will be 3-5 classes too.

Finally, Agility Warrant question: Do I need to send a covering letter or anything with Kim’s book or can I just send the record book by itself?

I’ve not sent my warrant book off yet (despite having over 600 points, lol) so not sure about the covering letter. I’d probably pop a note in with it. Make sure you photocopy it though – you know what the royal mail is like!

hehe, I shouldn’t have been so optimistic — the camera issues may not be sorted yet!

Have photocopy already! I’m a bit more prepared, just need to know about the letter/note (?) or whatever. Not really sure, I’ve heard people say they just sent the book and then others who said they sent a note with it.
