Doncaster Flyball Tournament

Our first time at the famous indoor-turf Doncaster tournaments, and we had a fantastic day.

Mollie’s team, Night Owlers, ran their socks off and finished a very respectable 3rd in Division 5, setting a new seed time in the process. I was supposed to be boxloading for this team but in the end I boxloaded for the less-experienced Eagle Owlers team, who finished in last place in Division 5 but certainly didn’t give up without a fight!

Kim’s team, Barking Owlers, were in Division 2 and I was really expecting us to be a bit outclassed, as all the other teams were running low 19 times, with a few having broken 19 seconds this summer. But we had some fantastic team racing, and won three of five races, and came home with a 3rd too. Kim was running brilliantly, I couldn’t have asked for more from her. I have to mention that my mum was running Jess as Craig unexpectedly couldn’t make it, and to say Jess has never done any training with her, they were both fantastic!

It was a long day, as usual, and my tall boy stayed at home and helped with the decorating. Some sleepy dogs today!
