Agility,  Health,  Kim

Quiet Weeks

It’s been a quiet week for the gang.

Kim had a vet check on Tuesday, for two very specific reasons. The good news is that her heart murmur hasn’t deteriorated at all, and our vet thinks the best thing for her is to continue doing agility and flyball as it will keep her heart healthier, although we should obviously moniter her as closely as possible, especially for coughing or signs of unexpected fatigue.

She also went in because a lump suddenly came up, just at the end of her ribcage and about an inch to the right of her spine. Again, good news, as it doesn’t appear to be dangerous. Due to the position it’s very unlikely to be a foriegn body, she has no other swelling anywhere else (lymphnodes), and it appeared overnight. It looks like it might be a bruise where fluid is being retained, which means it should settle by itself eventually, but that’s another thing to maintain.

Because Kim hates going to the vets, she got to go training by herself and have a session of Kim-specialness, which she seemed quite happy about! Dylan wasn’t so thrilled but he’ll get over it, he gets sessions by himself all the time. Kim worked really well, it seems like some of her consistency is coming back (or mine is, which is probably the reality). She’s not as fast as she used to be, and I do know I say this all the time, but we’re getting tighter turns and more consistent results, so maybe it will balance out on the Grade 4+ level courses we’re doing these days.
