Misdiagnosis?

After arming the household with honey, contacting all relevant parties to warn them of our quarantine and then resigning myself to a boring month ahead, all my dogs have resolutely NOT coughed, hacked, spluttered, snorted or sneezed for two days straight.

Dylan was hacking up spit on Tuesday morning, I checked his throat and tried to ease the coughing/hacking, to no avail. It sounded like Kennel Cough, and I struggled over whether to leave it a day before confirming with everyone, but we train on Tuesday evenings and I couldn’t risk going if my dogs were contagious. So I let everyone know. I then had to leave him to go into town for a couple of hours, and when I got back … nothing. Absolutely nothing. No coughs after exercise or excitement, no coughs after eating, no coughs when I try massaging their throats.

In short, dogs remain chirpy and cough-free, bemused but happy with the addition of warm water and honey mixtures to their diets.
