Flyball Training & Crufts

Had a great session with all the dogs this morning! We were working over 6 jumps at the full 14″ for Mollie & Dylan, 12″ for Kim as she has to be awkward and be one of only 2 dogs who measure at 13″, and I don’t like running her over 14″, so she mixed up with Bailey and the other 12″ dogs. Anyway, great stamina work, and I’m so proud of Dylan who joined in with the “big dogs” for the second session and ran between Jet and Lolly, his favourite speedy girls. He’s one tired pup now though, he hasn’t done 6 jump runs before and although he didn’t bat an eyelid it was quite a step-up for him! Kim doesn’t really seem to notice the difference between 4 and 6 jumps, but I suppose she’s used to agility where she has to do dozens of jumps in a row. Mollie finds it tiring, although you wouldn’t know that to look at her whilst she’s training. She’s still the nuttiest dog in the line-up, barking and bouncing and going completely loopy the whole time. Nobody would guess she was 9!

Dylan’s also working the box nicely now. I can’t wait for Carlton Towers, we have a really lovely little team and I haven’t run in a Starters competition since summer 2004.

I’ve been listening to Crufts FM for the last couple of days, trying to snatch the agility results, although for the most part it’s quicker to check the Agility Forum! Still no results published from the Bearded Collie or Border Collie classes that I want, so I’m just waiting for news from Katie to see whether Andrea, Vicki or Sarah have got anything. Fingers crossed!
