BFA Flyball Summer Championships

Kim and Mollie were competing in the BFA Summer Championships this weekend, and their team, Barking Owlers, won Division 8 with a time of 19.82! Due to the seeding we ended up racing against the teams we usually see at tournaments rather than those from further afield, but we had some great racing anyway against Sheffield, Live Wires, our friends at Dog Friendly, and in our last race against Northern Bytes. All the dogs ran their socks off, so well done to Jet, Meg, Buffy, Kim, Mollie and our brilliant height dog Jess.

I was a bit worried about Kim being lame but she was sound as a bell for the majority of the day, I did think she’d done it again on the last race of the day (over 13″ jumps) but she was absolutely fine, and wasn’t stiff the day after or anything. Very pleased, especially since it’s the BAA Finals next weekend!

Barney Owlers were seeded first in Division 2 and had a cracking day, just losing out to Doncaster on the final race to leave them 2nd with a fastest time of 18.15, great stuff guys!

I have to confess that I was expecting it to be something really different, but it was all generally a bit of a disappointment. It was a well-run tournament, and it had everything a normal tournament has, but there was nothing to mark it as a special event. I know we were only in Division 8, but I was really excited about attending and it was something of a let-down when we first arrived. Having said that, I’d go back again next year if we qualified!

Website Changes: You may also notice that undermybed.co.uk has a new layout! The ever-popular Sad Puppy guarded the website for a day or so whilst I implemented all the changes. I was going for something a bit different with this one, and I’ve been wanting to do something with brighter colours for a while now. Feedback much appreciated!
